   The above design by Humphrey makes use of both warm and cool colors on each nail. Layers of airbrushed polish in yellow and apricot-orange add warmth to the index and middle fingers, while pink, index, and ring fingers in light and cool blues are decorated on both hands. On oval-shaped nails, the aura design looks quite whimsical.

Alliance Molina, a nail artist, tells Mahi that she uses the Mia Secret Blooming Gel to create the aura effect without using an airbrush. She tops the blooming gel with a dot of gel nail polish before curing it under a UV lamp. The aura illusion is created when it spreads independently on top of the blooming gel layer. After that layer has dried, the process continues with the subsequent layer of the desired color. Put another way, base color, blooming gel, a dab of gel nail polish, curing, and subsequent application.

Humphrey points out that using regular nail polish to create airbrushed effects is not the easiest thing to do, but it is doable. Blend regular polishes together with beauty sponges or sponge eye shadow applicators. As the polish dries and hardens in the sponge, you may need several of these sponges because you don't want your hombre to be chunky. Before starting the next layer, check that each one is dry because it might smudge."Humphrey adds to the do-it-yourself idea by mentioning that an eye shadow brush can be used to apply powder pigments to a matte topcoat to create a gradient design.

Ayah Nicole Mendoza, a manicurist, uses an airbrush to create the gradient effect and adds nail charms to her aura designs. As an accent, she added gold star charms to the combination of green and cream showed above."The look may require more than one color to create a smooth transition, depending on the colors used as the base," Mendoza mentions.

The nail artist from New Jersey began by airbrushing a transition color in circular motions onto the center of the nail after applying two even coats of the base color. After the transition color was applied, the nails were dried, and she used an airbrush to apply the final color to the center of the nail, creating an aura illusion. Mendoza ensures that the edges of each polish that was airbrushed onto the nails are diffused throughout each step.

In her aura designs, Mendoza emphasizes the ability to use colors that are very different from one another. A transition polish can help even things out, even if the colors of the polish are opposite each other on the color wheel. Madeleine, a manicurist based in Paris, used warm colors and bright elements throughout the traditional French tip. Her idea came from another aura manicure that did on Instagram. I simplified it a little because I loved the idea of giving French tips an aura, or design. She applied for Nail Kit

She applied opal flakes and a clear topcoat after curing the design in place and removing the stencil.
